About Key Biscayne Florida, Key Biscayne history

The Village of Key Biscayne has long been depicted for its tranquil sandy beaches and pristine waters. The island offers you a lifestyle that is defined as idyllic for those of all ages. Stroll the parks, ride your bike, access our private beaches or get to the airport just minutes away.

Key Biscayne is a barrier Island located in Miami Dade County, Florida, it has long been depicted as tranquil sand and palm rimmed island lying in the lee of history. In between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay it is the southernmost of the barrier islands along the Atlantic coast of Florida. It lies south of Miami Beach and southeast of Miami. The Key (as referred to by locals) is connected to Miami via the Rickenbacker Causeway originally built in 1947 and replaced in the 1980’s. The northern portion of Key Biscayne is home to Crandon Park, a county park which offers beach access. It is home to the ATP Sony Erickson Tennis tournament which is viewed worldwide and attracts thousands to the Island every year. The southern part of the island is Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park which is a national park and houses the iconic lighthouse which is oldest structure in the county. The middle section of the island consists of the Village of Key Biscayne which was incorporated in 1990. Key Biscayne once dubbed the Winter White House having been popularized during President Nixon’s administration has attracted world leaders, famous entertainers and the ordinary families that reside there year round. Real Estate has been the island’s biggest commodity and it continues to be so by the recent growth in population and tight supply of inventory. The uniqueness of the Island is the diversity of cultures. Key Biscayne is home to those who possess its mind set. Since incorporation, the Island has transformed from a winter bird setting to a year round family oriented community. The South American culture not only influences the food and language but drives the real estate. Residences flock from South America, Mexico, Canada and Northeast to own a piece of its paradise. As we enter the sixth decade of Key Biscayne, we see a vibrant and growing world renowned community, the gateway to Central and South America. The history of Key Biscayne real estate promises to continue to be a solid foundation.

Be a part of it now. This is your time to own of piece of the Island Paradise
